In the Flow: Embracing the Cycles of Womanhood is designed for girls age eleven and up, teens, women, mothers and grandmothers who want a positive relationship with their menstrual cycle; create a healthful peri-menopause; and create new family traditions. Women of color are encouraged to attend.
WHY COME ...
- To learn about the wisdom of the menstrual cycle which is a mirror of earth's seasons
and the moon's cycle
- To experience the empowerment that comes from rooting yourself in the essence of your
true, deep feminine nature
- To strengthen your self-esteem as a girl or woman, helping you avoid exploitation and manipulation
from the media, politics and relationships
- To enhance your relationships with the people in your life by sharing a positive
menstrual and menopausal attitude
- To understand the cycles of life that help encourage your participation in activities that support
both community and environmental issues.
“How might your life have been different if there had been a place for you ...a place of women, where you were received and affirmed?" ~Judith Duerk
At This Event We Will…
- Create a safe, dynamic space for girls and women to receive information and explore their menstrual cycles through body, mind, heart and spirit
- Bring conscious awareness to the monthly menstrual cycle, which in many cultures historically has been hidden, or considered unclean,
- Talk openly about body changes, pain and discomfort along with choices of relief.
- Model the innate beauty, honor and body wisdom found in the menstrual cycle through the use of music, yoga, hula, ritual, film, creative expression, storytelling, lunar cycles and herbal knowledge
- Re-awaken women to their role of assisting girls to enter womanhood, helping them to discover their inner beauty, strength and wisdom through the flow of the menstrual cycle in its connection with nature
- Re-member the eternal connection among women through the menstrual cycle

*Tents, lodges, and huts have been used across the globe and throughout time, where women would gather during their bleeding time or moontime, to rest, restore, share stories, and teach girls and young women about womanhood. In this day a safe, dynamic space will be created for you to receive information and explore all the cycles of womanhood from beginning to end.
